This Easter Channel 4 broadcast the first series of it's new program format Extreme Chocolate Makers where Chocolatiers from around the UK design and make amazing chocolate on commission. Our very own 'Brilliant British Brands' brand partner Paul Wayne Gregory was selected as one of an elite group chocolatiers as they work to produce the world’s most breath-taking chocolate creations.
The 10 episode series follows our chocolaty chums through some seriously sticky situations in their attempts to meet some grueling deadlines. These include a 3D chocolate map of Croatia, commissioned by the Croatian Embassy; a chocolate record player complete with chocolate headphones, microphone and record collection; a 4.5-foot Big Ben of the Palace of Westminster in London; and exact replicas of an endangered dung beetle, made for an Oxford entomologist.
In the series Paul was tasked with creating a high end Easter egg design for a well known department store in London, and an iconic center-piece for a 40th birthday celebration for reggae record Label VP.
Later in the series Paul recreated an actual Rotary see through watch 15 times the size of the actual time piece in amazing detail, and finished with his trade-mark skill of creating facial likenesses in chocolate. Usually commissioned for celebrities in t.v and drama this time it was of a very different but special kind of celebrity...Margorie the oldest serving Chelsea Pensioner!
Extreme Chocolate Makers, narrated by Rufus Hound, is executive produced by Boomerang.
